A reminder of the epic years for today's generation in the book "Thirteen Year Olds"
The book "Thirteen Year Olds" written by Hojjatoleslam Hadi Shirazi, is about memories of the young warriors of the holy defense era.
The first chapter tells the tale of Prophet Ibrahim and his offering of his son as a sacrifice to Allah. The same story is being carried out by a 90-year-old father who will offer his teenage son as a sacrifice to God.
Chapter two tells the tale of Qasim ibn al-Hassan (AS), a young soldier on the Day of Ashura, for whom martyrdom is the height of devotion to God.
Third chapter is about Muhammad Hussain Fahmide, whom Imam Khomeini introduced as a leader.
The following chapter is about Khorramshahr native Behnam Muhammadi Rad, who was killed by shrapnel.
The book's fifth chapter is devoted to the Susangerd-born teen daughter of the martyr "Saham Khayyam." When Saddam's Baathists occupied Howeiza, this brave girl fought them with stones, but she was shot at. The red shirt and ring she was wearing helped later identify her body.
Saeed Toughani, a martyr who was born in Tehran and whose body was brought home ten years later, is the subject of the book's following chapter.
The book also has ten additional chapters that discuss the stories of teenagers who were present in the fronts. There are some memories of teenage captivity in the twelfth chapter, and the final chapter is devoted to the martyrs' wills and their images.
Strange things can be found in their wills, like what the martyr Seyyed Alireza Jowzi wrote: There are only a few days left until my life begins as I write this will right now! Recognize how sweet these last moments are to me and how my death is the beginning of my life.
In collaboration with the Shahid Shirazi Foundation's research center, this book has been reprinted more than 36 times.
